Key Goals and Objectives (2024-2025)
• Maintain membership level of 90-110 members
• Identify inactive members and take action to increase their involvement
• Assign new member sponsors to help new members get oriented to MVIFS during the first several months of their membership
• Develop a tutorial package for new members to train them on the MVIFS website and the App. Training should be done by the assigned new member sponsor
• Plan & schedule at least 1 Dine Around & 1 program event per month with a goal of planning the next year’s events by end of 4th Quarter. (venue, date, theme).
• Set up events for website registration at least 6 months before the event with ‘save the dates’ for the rest of the year.
• Consider special annual or bi-annual events (examples: Barge Trip to France; Bourbon Trail, Dragons Ball Game, Weekend trip to The Wilds, etc)
• Continue the practice of assigning Board Sponsors for each program event. Codify the responsibilities of the Board Sponsor as they relate to planning, organizing, managing, and executing program events.
• Monitor and manage events’ costs to stay on budget and to minimize out of pocket costs to members who register for events.
• Post pictures and event write-ups on the MVIFS Website to attract new members and to encourage member participation in scheduled events and dine arounds.
• As a 501C3 Charitable Organization, MVIFS must continue to emphasize and focus on Farm to Table related projects and other charitable programs.
• Provide financial, expertise and consulting support for the Kettering School initiative at Oakview Elementary School.
• Work with Bern Schwiederman or his replacement to support program expansion plans if they occur.
• Identify if grants are needed in addition to our annual allocation to support Farm to Table initiatives.
• Develop alternative ideas and programs
• Manage Wild Apricot/MVIFS website & Facebook; maintain data currency. Identify and train an alternate or backup website administrator.
• Manage financial arrangements with banks and payment processors.
• Maintain insurance requirements with insurance company. Review insurance requirements annually to ensure adequate insurance coverage for MVIFS.
• Manage our Financial records and handle reporting requirements with the State. Identify and train a backup financial manager to support the MVIFS Board Treasurer.
• Conduct Board elections every 2 years. Elect new officers.
• Review and update the MVIFS Code of Regulations and By-Laws every 5 years. Next review and update should be completed in 2026.
