  Hosts: Adam & Stacie Remaly, Bob & Jeanne Evans, Charlie & Ginny McKenzie 

  This special event will be held at the McKenzie Hale, 2844 Wilmington Dayton Rd, Bellbrook, OH 45305. Charlie and Ginny, ably assisted by Adam, Stacie, Bob, and Jeanne, will use their 12 years of living in Hawaii to bring you a close-to-authentic Hawaiian Luau right here in Ohio. You'll be greeted at the entrance with a Mai Tai or Blue Hawaiian cocktail and there will be beautiful Hawaiian music playing in the background.

  The luau menu will include Huli Huli chicken, Kalua pork, steamed rice, Hawaiian mac salad, and Hawaiian purple poi. (You probably won't like the poi, but you must try at least a spoonful.)  Ginny says we'll also include a green salad for those health-conscious attendees. We'll have water to drink, but you're welcome to bring your own wine or beer if you want.

  After we eat, lovely ("nani" in Hawaiian) Stacie will offer to teach everyone the Hukilau.  This is a famous hula dance that is simple but very beautiful. We urge all of you to dress for the occasion in your favorite Hawaiian shirt, muumuu, grass skirt, or coconut bra.

  

  This event starts at 5:30 PM with food being served between 6:00 and 6:30. Member cost is $35.  This is a "Members Only" event except for individual members who may bring one guest. Attendance will be limited to the first 65 registrants, but a wait list will be established when the registration limit is reached.

A DLM box lunch will be provided.  Bring your chairs and beverage of choice (preferably in a non-glass container - "park rule".) We'll also have the campfire going for those that don't think August in Ohio is warm enough.

  September 14, 2025, a Sunday afternoon, we will depart Crosspoint at 1:30 PM promptly in our chartered bus and head to the Bryn Du Mansion Great Lawn and Polo Field in Granville.  Once we are set up (please bring lawn chairs) we will toast the match in the only appropriate way…with a glass of champagne!  There is an announcer who explains the match as it progresses, and you are welcome to participate in stomping the divots between chukkas if you like!  Then we will provide dinner at the field.

  The bus will depart at 7:00 PM to return to Crosspoint.  You are welcome to bring any libations you like.  

  Our budget plans for 24 people to make this event work, so a quick sign up would greatly help our planning.

  Get Away Without Traveling Far and sign up for our Road Tour to Heuston Woods scheduled for October 25th. The Tour includes a beautiful autumn drive followed by pay as you go drinks and dinner at the Lodge. Hueston Woods Lodge and Conference Center, a spacious, comfortable retreat, is found just five miles from the Miami University of Ohio.

   At Heuston Woods you can hike through a 200-acre forest flecked with autumn's richest gold, dine where the ambiance is friendly, and the views of the lake are breathtaking.

  You'll have to make your own reservations in the Smokehouse Restaurant at Heuston Woods Lodge by calling (513) 664-3527 if you want to have dinner there.  They are open from 5:30 to 9:00PM. We also understand that they have plenty of rooms available for those wanting to stay overnight or longer.  

  Mike and Carol Self are our Tour Masters and have mapped out a fun afternoon of touring interesting sites and back roads. If you join in this event, you'll discover Hueston Woods and uncover one of Ohio's best-kept secrets.

  For our November Dine Around, we’re heading to Tuscany’s Italian Restaurant, a true hidden gem in Centerville. Everything on the menu is made fresh daily—pizza crusts, sauces, bread rolls, and more—all from time-honored family recipes passed down from Grandma herself.

  Because of the restaurant’s cozy size, this Dine Around will be spread over three nights to ensure a relaxed dining experience. Each evening is limited to 12 people, so early sign-up is encouraged.

  There is no cost to attend other than the price of your own meal. Guests are welcome.

  • Please bring your favorite thanksgiving-themed side dish and a wine to share.  Single members should bring either a side dish or a bottle of wine, but you can bring both if you really want to.
  • A highlight of the evening will be the chance to "grade" the turkey carving skills of 3 or 4 of your fellow MVIFS members that Rose has coerced into performing this critical mission.
  • The Barn at Stonehill Village is a wonderful venue with room for all.
