June's Dine Around (Wednesday, June 9th) is featuring two fun venues!  We're meeting for cocktails and social hour at 5pm in the Van Buren Room at Belle of Dayton Distillery (corner of Van Buren & Wayne Avenue.  Our 6:30 pm dinner is at Wheat Penny (515 Wayne Ave.) which is ~1 1/2 blocks away (about a 3-5 minute walk).

Interesting Van Buren News:  In January, Belle of Dayton, released what Belle of Dayton’s founders said is the first rye whiskey distilled in Dayton since Prohibition. The Detrick Straight Rye Whiskey, which was awarded the coveted Double Gold Medal for their Detrick Rye Whiskey at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, is a blend of four 53-gallon barrels, with an average of four years of age spent in barrel. The blend includes one barrel of rye that has been aging for six years, one barrel of four-year, and two barrels of rye that have aged for three years.  At last report, 'Detrick' was in very limited supply but we have been assured that we will be able to have a taste (or more) of their award winning whiskey.

Parking Note: Parking at the Van Buren Room is limited.  It's suggested that we park at Wheat Penny and walk over to the 'VB Room' (1 block South)
